PROMOTION IMMOBILIERE - MAISON LAFFITTE
QUARTUS
This residential development unfolds within a universe inspired by the dreamlike imagination of Jean Cocteau, born in Maisons-Laffitte. More than a reference, his work becomes a language here—one of passage, symbolism, and poetry applied to space.
The entrance hall is conceived as a stage. Organized around a shared library, angled mirrors extend the perspectives and subtly distort perception, echoing Cocteau’s vision of the mirror as a threshold to be crossed. Colored glass panels within the vestibule reinforce this idea, creating a gradual transition between exterior and interior.
On the ground floor, materials in soft, luminous tones establish a calm foundation. On the upper levels, deep blue-clad landings introduce a more intimate atmosphere. The star-patterned carpet and the “moon” door handles, designed by the studio, develop a deliberate celestial vocabulary. Lettering appears in motion across the doors, while golden light fixtures cast dramatic shafts of light and shadow, discreetly staging the circulation areas.
Each floor is further distinguished by an original illustration inspired by Cocteau’s distinctive line work. Circulation spaces thus become gallery-like environments, extending the residential experience through a coherent and carefully articulated artistic narrative.
